So after all of the hype about Lorne Michaels' frantic search to find a new cast member to take on the role of Barack Obama on Saturday Night Live, the show returned to the air last night for its first post-strike episode and opened with a sketch featuring Obama played by... Fred Armisen? Talk about anticlimactic. A clip from the sketch is featured above in case you want to check out Armisen's very pedestrian take on our would-be next President.
(Yes, we still think Wyatt Cenac should have gotten the gig.)
That aside, we thought the return of SNL was fairly strong with its share of highlights including Tina Fey's monologue (on which she got a big assist from Steve Martin) and a surprisingly funny cameo from Mike Huckabee on Weekend Update. We'd go into more detail about last night's episode, but that's really not necessary since The Comic's Comic has already done it for us and featured videos from just about everything on the show last night in case you missed it.
