Our Phone Line Is Blowin' Up

Remember the Whip It Out Comedy hotline? Well, our phone's been ringing off the hook for some reason in the last 24 hours and we thought we'd share a couple of the voicemail messages with you (Remember, you too can leave us a message and get a nanosecond of fame by having your voicemail posted on this site if you call us at 818-575-6035).

Our first message comes from our comedian pal Ben Gleib who clearly needs help with a variety of issues:

After the jump, check out another rambling message we got late last night from "Barb" in Pennsylvania who really likes some guy named "Avi" (we think) and who likes to sing along with Alicia Keys songs:

Checking Today's Voicemail

We never know quite what we're going to get when we check our Whip It Out Comedy voicemail and today was no exception. Click above to hear the message we got from some guy rambling about Craigslist ads for oil paintings of President Bush having sex with donkeys and tacos with erections. We have no idea what this is about, but that's the beauty of having an anonymous voicemail available for people to call.

If you've got something you'd like to share with us, feel free to call and leave us a message at 818-575-6035. We'll post your message on the site...even if we don't understand it.

Is Profanity "Cheating?" Jerry Seinfeld Thinks So...

Is profanity stand-up comedy's version of steroids? Based on this audio clip, it certainly seems like Jerry Seinfeld thinks so. The clip, taken from this 2001 interview album on which Seinfeld discusses his opinions on all things comedy, features Seinfeld calling the use of profanity a "great shortcut of comedy," explaining why he doesn't use it, and agreeing with the interviewer when asked if the guys that do use profanity know that they're cheating by using it. Pretty interesting stuff. Maybe if Congress gets bored with its baseball investigations, it can turn its attention to rooting out all the "cheaters" in the world of standup.

It's easy to get caught up in the boom of comedy videos floating around online, but Whip It Out Comedy knows that sometimes you don't need video to get your laugh on. Worst Of Baldwin

Woops. Just moments after we post a clip showcasing highlights of the best of Alec Baldwin's work on 30 Rock, TMZ.com breaks this audio clip which supposedly featuring a voicemail message that Baldwin left railing at his 11-year-old daughter. The audio really doesn't sound anything like him, but in theory it's for real and it's cost Baldwin his visitation rights. Click here to listen to the call. And here's a transcribed highlight from the message:

"I don't give a damn that you're 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do."

God Hates AT&T

Add to My Profile | More Videos

Crank phone calls have come a long way since the days of the Jerky Boys. In this audio clip, Eugene Mirman brilliantly flips the script on a telemarketer that calls him and tries to convince him to dump his phone service and switch over to their phone service. The big selling point? Their phone service hates gay people. Hilarity ensues.
